Our Story

The restaurant’s name is derived from the Italian expression, "fare la scarpetta," which means to savor a meal to the very last bite. In 2008, Scarpetta received a James Beard nomination for ‘Best New Restaurant in America’ for it's first location in New York City, as well as a coveted three-star review from the New York Times. 

Since then, Scarpetta has expanded its footprint in all corners of the world, including it's latest location in Rome, providing culinary integrity and excellent service to discerning customers globally.
